Our approach is to provide a rationalisation of data
that may have been collected over a long period of time and often in
different formats. Data reconciliation and integration through 3D model
building is an important step towards knowledge extraction from both
complex and complexly interacting dataset. 3D visualisation and
modelling allows for better interpretation and sharing (with
stakeholders) of conceptual ideas or observations. Applications include
in mine, brownfield and greenfield target definition.
For example, recent modelling work conducted at PGN includes:
> 3D geometrical and property modelling with forward modelling and
inversion of potential field data. Applications include planning of in
and near mine deep drilling at Olympic Dam.
> Regional Belt scale
complex structural model. Applications include planning of exploration
in the Agnew - Willuna Belt in WA.
- Basin analysis. Applications include understanding the rift architecture in the Myally Basin near Mt Isa & oil fields off the coast of Jamaica.
> Fully integrated complex prospect scale 3D models. Applications
include deep drilling near Broken Hill Australia, the NiS Munali deposit in Zambia and the Rosebery mine in Tasmania.
