John is an early-career geoscientist with an MSc (2004) from the University of Auckland in structural geology
and stratigraphy of the Mount Camel Terrane in Northland, New Zealand. He is currently completing a PhD at Monash University in structural
geology integrated with geophysical interpretation and modeling.
His present work relies heavily on the interpretation and modeling of potential field geophysical data from which he is producing structurally constrained
tectonic models and evolutions for Proterozoic South Australia.
He is experienced in structural mapping of high and low grade polydeformed terranes, targeted sampling,
structural and stratigraphic core logging, rig supervision, GIS data management and integrated interpretation,
geophysical processing (ERmapper, Oasis Montaj) and modeling (GMSys).
Field geological experience includes high grade terranes such as the Bergslagen Province (central Sweden), Gawler Craton and Mount Painter (SA),
Broken Hill (NSW), Albany Fraser Orogen (WA) and low grade terranes such as the Adelaide Fold Belt (SA) and Northland Allochthon of New Zealand.
